Wires and cables are composed of four parts: conductor, insulation, shielding and protective layer.
Conductor
The conductor is the conductive part of the wire and cable, which is used to transmit electrical energy and is the main part of the wire and cable.
Insulation
The insulation layer is to electrically isolate the conductor from the earth and the conductors of different phases to ensure the transmission of electric energy, and is an indispensable part of the wire and cable structure.
Shielding
Wires and cables of 15KV and above generally have conductor shielding and insulation shielding.
Protective layer
The function of the protective layer is to protect the wire and cable from the intrusion of external impurities and moisture, as well as to prevent external forces from directly damaging the power cable.
